This week, post-apocalyptic feature Scorched Earth and TV series Zoo start filming in Vancouver
Scorched Earth (Feature)
After the earth as we know it is destroyed by an environmental disaster, bounty hunter Atticus Gage sets out to round up the world’s most wanted criminal. Scorched Earth was written by Vancouver’s own Kevin Leeson and Bobby Mort of The Colbert Report and pitched at TIFF in 2012.
According to the films IMDb page, British actor Dean S. Jagger and Canadian actor Patrick Gilmore will star. Patrick appears in a couple of other recent filmed in BC productions including Gracepoint and this year’s new series You Me Her. Mixed Martial Arts master turned actress and recent Deadpool star Gina Carano is amongst the cast.
Scorched Earth will be filming in Vancouver and area until March 7th.
Zoo (TV Series) Season 2
After filming its first season in New Orleans, CBS TV series Zoo is set to begin filming its second season in Vancouver this week. Zoo is a Sci-Fi Drama that follows a team who are investigating a world-wide outbreak of suspicious animal attacks. It’s based on a book of the same name written by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge and released in 2012.
The main cast for the shows first season included James Wolk (You Again), Kristen Connolly (The Cabin in the Woods), Nonso Anozie (Cinderalla), Nora Arnezeder (Safe House), and of course everyone’s favourite Forks, Washington Police Chief Charlie Swan aka Billy Burke (Twilight).
