What’s Filming This Week?


It’s a busy week in Hollywood North as 6 additional productions kick off in and around Vancouver. Following is a quick summary of each production including notable cast where available.

War for the Planet of the Apes (Feature)
The follow up to 2014’s Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Notable cast include Andy Serkis, who is reprising his role as Caesar as well as Woody Harrelson. This movie will be filming in the area until March of and is expected to be released in 2017.

Midnight Sun (Feature)
After being in BC earlier this year for Lifetime movie Perfect High, Bella Thorne returns to play Katie in this young adult romance which is based on a 2006 Japanese film by the same name. Earlier this week, Deadline revealed that Rob Riggle (21 Jump Street, The Hangover) has also signed on as part of the film’s cast. Rob will play Katie’s father. This movie will be filming in the area until the middle of November and is slated to be released in 2016.

You Me Her (TV Series)
DirecTV original comedy series which will air on its own Audience Network. Notable cast include Greg Poehler (brother of Amy Poeler and Canadian actress Rachel Blanchard (Fargo). The series will be filming in the area until early December.

The Wilding (TV Pilot)
From the creator that brought us the hit series Heros, Tim Kring, this supernatural themed show was green lit by the USA Network for a 2 hour pilot (according to Deadline). Notable cast including Dominic Fumusa (Nurse Jackie) and Antonio Jaramillo (Shades of Blue).

Un-break My Heart (TV Movie)
Grammy Winning artist Toni Braxton’s memoire title Unbreak My Heart is being turned into a TV movie by Lifetime. Toni herself will also be appearing in the film.

Hand in Love (TV Movie)
This TV movie will be filming over the next couple of weeks in BC’s interior.
